An €8 million  competition entry for the design of Flower Ocean/Huayan Township, a new urban district in Ruichang, China, this is a sustainable design that promotes the notion of a healthy and joyful lifestyle. This pair of prefabricated steel apartments, one 28m high, the other 18m high, and both totalling 10.750 m2, have thin-film photovoltaic panel cladding and operable glass photovoltaic louvers on the roof and east and west facades. The structural support is conventionally engineered but follows a vegetal theme.
